Greater Lansing Youth for Peace and Justice (GLYPAJ):

An ecumenical advocacy group of young adults, grades 6-12, who meet every 2nd and 4th Thursday of the month at 7:30 pm at Edgewood to try to improve the world through social activism.  The group engages in social action projects such as fundraising for charitable organizations, collecting signatures, writing letters, holding educational forums and much more.  For example, GLYPAJ traveled to the anti-war protest in Washington, DC, worked on opposing legalizing concealed weapon legislation, collected for UNICEF, and is partnering with youth in Rwanda.  They also learn about justice issues and peacemaking through field trips, movies, workshops, discussions, and speakers.  Youth from various local churches and religious organizations comprise the group. All are welcome.
