Sunday Morning Adult Study Group
Each Sunday morning at 8:45, the Adult Study Group gathers to discuss theology, scripture and the intersection of Christian thought and our modern world. It is a casual, drop-in group with lively discussion and plenty of room for multiple points of view. The group often selects a theological book and works its way through it. Recent selections have been Sins of the Scriptures by John Shelby Spong, The Heart of Christianity by Marcus Borg and One River, Many Wells by Matthew Fox.
Monthly Lunch
The Monthly Lunch group meets on the third Monday of the month except during the summer. The group gathers for conversation over lunch and to listen to a presentation by a speaker. Topics vary widely. This past year included “Calvin and Democracy”; “Stand Up For Choice”, a conversation with the public affairs specialist for Planned Parenthood; “Why not just Jesus? Why Christ?” a look at the historical and proclaimed images of Jesus in Christianity. There is always time for questions and discussion afterwards.
Lenten Series
During Lent Edgewood offers a Lenten Series on Wednesday nights. Each year the format is a little different but often includes worship in the Chapel followed by theological reflections. Gatherings are usually led by Edgewood members and friends and begin the Wednesday after Ash Wednesday at 7 pm.
Prophetic Voices
Prophetic Voices gathers about once a month on Sunday afternoon to discuss the intersection of politics and religion. How does our faith speak to the challenging issues of our times? Call the office for the current schedule of meeting dates.
