Faith SharingCircles of Faith In 2005 Edgewood began a small group ministry called Circles of Faith where members and friends of the congregation signed up for small faith sharing groups. There are seven active Circles of Faith that meet twice a month for six months to discuss issues of faith, belief and practice. Participants have wrestled with good and evil, the afterlife, images of God, the person of Jesus, miracles and prayer. Members covenant together to attend as often as possible and to be mindful that this is time to understand the diversity of experiences, not a time to find answers. Groups remain open to new attendees, complete one service project together, and disband at the end of six months making room for a new series of groups to begin again later in the year. Prayer Care As a congregation we commit to pray for one another in times of celebration and need. We lift up the prayers of the people each week during worship. We also send out email pastoral care notes which keep folks in touch with emergency or immediate needs for prayer or assistance among members. |
