Every summer Edgewood members and friends commit themselves to a week of service learning through a trip with a partner organization. Over the years we have traveled internationally, throughout the country, and even stayed local to Michigan volunteering in our own community. Every other year week we go to the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota in partnership with Re-Member. The goal of these service learning trips is to educate ourselves about the varied realities and manifestations of poverty and oppressive systems, to learn about justice issues in other communities, and to volunteer our time and skill however we are able.
