Music

Music

Edgewood’s music program offers opportunities for all ages and abilities to learn and grow and enjoy making a joyful noise together. Edgewood’s program has a strong Western classical base with a lot of variety in the kinds of music that are a part of our worship service. All people are welcome to join in. No experience is necessary. Choirs rehearse from September through May each year. Childcare is available for all rehearsal times, if requested in advance. Throughout the summer our choirs take a break and members of the congregation offer their particular musical gifts from vocal soloists to woodwind trios to guitars and more.

ADULT CHOIR

The Adult Choir participates in most Sunday worship services except during the summer months of June – August. The selections range across the entire spectrum of choral music from all periods. The choir practices on Thursdays 7:30-9:00 PM and meets on Sunday mornings at 9 AM for warm-ups and to prepare for the day’s service. New singers are always welcome, even if you can’t commit to every Thursday and Sunday.

YOUTH MUSIC: RINGING, SINGING, AND JAMMIN’

All youth in grades 5-12 are welcome and encouraged to join us in the Bell Room on Sunday mornings after worship – no experience necessary. Just bring your enthusiasm and whatever musical instruments you have, or use ours, and we will make some wonderful music together!

HANDBELL CHOIR

Handbell choir is a great way to participate in the music program if you do not have prior music experience but would like to learn a new skill. Handbell choir practices from 6:30-7:30pm on Thursdays and plays in worship a few times a year. It is open to people of all abilities.

Treblemakers

The Treblemakers are Edgewood’s “pop-up” women’s a capella choir. They do not have regular rehearsals, instead they prepare as needed before occasional performances during the year.
