Diane’s Story

Diane’s Story

Diane and her husband Paul have been attending Edgewood since 2007. She is the co-chair of the Racial Justice Task Force, participates in a Circles of Faith small group (pictured here volunteering together), and sings each week in the choir.

WHY EDGEWOOD?

First and foremost Edgewood is solidly a UCC church. It was important to me to be part of a denomination that has a strong history of social justice. The music program is also important to me, so Edgewood was a good fit. Folks at Edgewood put their faith into action in a big way!

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT OUR CHURCH?

The folks at Edgewood are being faithful disciples in doing the work that God calls us to do. It feels empowering to be a part of this community. I feel empowered to “keep on keeping on,” but I also love that Edgewood folks don’t make me feel guilty for what I am not doing! The lay leadership is incredibly strong – intelligent people doing lots of great work and I am fully welcomed “ no matter where I am on life’s journey.”
